What do you do?
I am the Nursery Coordinator. The UCC Nursery cares for our littole ones from newborn until they are three years old. I have six supervisors that I work with to keep the nursery fully staffed and ready to serve our families.
What do you love most about your job?
I absolutely LOVE little children!! I enjoy snuggling babies and playing with toddlers; seeing their smiles and hearing their giggles; watching their creativity, personality and growth is amazing. God is so evident in this ministry!! I strive to confort both the children and their parents through these early transitions and feel wonderful when confidence is gained from our families.
A little bit about your background?
I grew up in Saginaw, Michigan and graduated from Taylor University a long time ago with a BA in Communication Studies. Tim, my college sweetheart, and I married in '92 and we bacme the proud parents of our daughter, Katelynn, in '97. While we lived in Valparaiso, IN I ran a state licensed home day care for a year and then went to work in a child care center where I was the director for three years. We moved to Upland in 2003 and have been active members at UCC.
What are some of your favorites?
Books - I love historical Christian fiction especially books by Tamera Alexander and Janette Oke.
Movies - I love to watch You've Got Mail with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.
Things to do - I love scrapbooking, spending time with my family and being at the ocean!
