What do you do? BASSYCS Director

What do you love most about your job? I love the combination of working with college students, teaching kids about Jesus, and getting to know families in our community. I have been amazed every week at the hearts of the college students and adult supervisors that volunteer their time.

A little bit about your background? I grew up attending a Mennonite Church in Bluffton, Ohio. I graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2001 with a degree in Psychology/Addictions Counseling and in 2006 graduated with an M.A. in counseling, also from IWU. During that time I worked for IWU, first in the Facilities Services Department for one year, and then as Resident Director for eight years. We moved to Upland in June, 2010 so that I could stay home with our kids full time.

Family? My husband, Adam, is an English teacher at Eastbrook High School. He is also the wrestling coach there. He has been teaching there since 2002. We have three children. Adam is from Cleveland OH, where his parents still live. I grew up in Bluffton, Ohio, but my parents are now missionaries in Alaska.

What are some of your personal favorites?

Books - Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers

Movies - I like too many to come up with a favorite!

Things to do - I enjoy reading, traveling, camping, playing soccer, crocheting (though I am not very good), cleaning BUT I HATE COOKING!
