What do you do? My title is Youth Ministries Associate. I help our youth pastor, Tom Nash, plan and coordinate events for Junior High and Senior High youth groups. I am also in charge of overseeing girl's discipleship and encouraging girl's small group leaders.
What do you love most about your job? What excites me most is using my gifts to come alongside our youth, in order to help them grow in their walk with God.
A little bit about your background? I grew up in the city of Chicago. I gave my life to the Lord in 3rd grade at an AWANA club. This church discipled me until I went off to college at Wheaton College. I met my husband Steve in college and we were married right after I graduated with a degree in Physical Education and teaching certification. We lived in the Chicago suburbs for 2 years and then we moved to Rockford, MI. While in Michigan, God blessed us with 4 children and a wonderful church family. We lived in Michigan for 17 years and then God lead us here to Upland. I have primarily worked in our home raising our children but have had part-time jobs over the years, providing day care, teaching P.E., substitute teaching and working in direct sales, but not all at the same time.
Family? My husband Steve grew up here in Upland. I have 4 children, Sarah, Josh, Michael and Ben. They are all very active and have enjoyed making friends here in Upland.
What are some of your personal favorites? I enjoy all things family. We spend a lot of time together at sporting events and hanging out at home. If I do find some free time, I love to connect with people, entertain or take a nap. As a family we enjoy watching Survivor, The Amazing Race and American Idol.
