X-Factor exists to partner with families in equipping the next generation to engage in and minister the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed.

X-Factor meets from 6:00-8:00pm on Sunday nights:

  • Gathering/game time (6:00-6:30)
  • Worship time (6:30-7:00)
  • Teaching time (7:00-7:30)
  • Small group time (7:30-8:00)

We want to create students who:

  • Know their identity in Christ
  • Comprehend basic doctrine
  • Serve
  • Practice good stewardship
  • Understand the roles of men and women
  • Understand spiritual gifts
  • Know the purpose of dating and marriage

How we do it: X-Factor Curriculum
  • By the time a student completes the six-year program (junior and senior high) of the UCC youth ministry, they will have studied an overview of the entire Bible.  Deeper relationships are fostered through small group time and one-on-ones.

What is Core?
  • Youth group leadership team
  • Run numerous youth group activities (game time, read scripture of the night, greet kids as they walk in, etc.)
  • Choose trip themes
  • Lead small group when college leaders are gone for breaks
  • Meet twice a month (Sundays after youth group, 8:00-9:00pm)

Who is leading my child’s small group?
  • There are two leaders per group
  • Leaders typically attend Taylor University or Indiana Wesleyan University
  • Leaders complete Safeplace Training as well as an interview with the Pastor of Youth Ministries (Tom Nash)

What is a one-on-one?
  • An hour of intentional time in a one-on-one setting with small group leader outside of youth group
  • Purpose: develop relationships, give the youth a chance to share their experiences, encourage youth, offer Godly support and accountability
  • Each child should have two one-on-ones per semester with their small group leader (initiated by the leader with parent permission)
