Payables Secretary
What do you do?
My paid position at UCC is Payables Secretary. You might also recognize me from volunteering in the Nursery and/or Jr. Church. I also currently serve on the Children’s Ministry Board and co-lead a Women’s Service Group with Dorothy Carmin.
What do you love most about your job?
I have enjoyed getting to know the pastors and staff in the office. It is also fun to see how much the church is used throughout the week!
A little bit about your background?
My mother and stepfather were married when I was 8 years old, and they raised us in the church where I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord an Savior at the age of 9. My husband David and I met while volunteering for children’s ministry together and have been married for almost 19 years. We have 3 children – Aaron, Brooklyn, and Aubrey. I graduated from Anderson University with a B.A. in Christian Ministries and led children’s programming at our previous church for 12 years before coming to UCC. While serving in children’s ministry, I also worked for VIA Credit Union in the Accounting Department for 7 years. I transitioned to a work from home bookkeeping position for my dad’s business shortly after our second child was born. I had worked for him for 13 years before his abrupt retirement in February due to health issues. We homeschool all three of our children, and that has been a joy to experience learning together with them.
What are some of your personal favorites?
Some of my favorite things are coffee and talking. If they can be done simultaneously with a friend that is even better! I also enjoy following my favorite golfer (Aaron) around beautiful courses and watching my daughters play softball. As a family we enjoy camping, canoeing/kayaking, and playing board/card games together.
