Middle School
6:22 exists to partner with families in equipping the next generation to engage in and minister the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed.
Why “6:22?”
The name “6:22” comes from the verse Romans 6:22, which says, “But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life.”
6:22 meets from 6:00-8:00pm on Sunday nights:
- Gathering/game time (6:00-6:30)
- Worship time (6:30-7:00)
- Small group time (7:00-7:30)
- Teaching time (7:30-8:00)
We are trying to create students who:
- Know that their identity is in Christ
- Live in Biblical purity
- Experience healthy relationships
- Understand basic doctrine
- Serve
How we do it: 6:22 Curriculum
By the time a student completes the six-year program (junior and senior high) of the UCC youth ministry, they will have studied: an overview of the entire Bible. Deeper relationships are fostered through small group time and one-on-ones.
Who is leading my teen’s small group?
- There are two leaders per group
- Leaders typically attend Taylor University or Indiana Wesleyan University
- Leaders complete Safeplace Training as well as an interview with the Pastor of Youth Ministries (Tom Nash)
