Mark served as the Lead Pastor at Upland Community Church for 14 years before taking the role of Associate Pastor in 2023. Both Mark and his wife, Dianne, grew up in Urbana, IL attending high school and the University of Illinois together. They were married in 1983. After graduating from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, Mark practiced as a veterinarian for 22 years while serving in a variety of leadership positions in local churches. 

In 2003, he sold his practice to enter Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. After seminary, Mark completed a two-year Ministry Residency at College Church in Wheaton, IL before accepting the call to pastor at UCC. He and Dianne have three married children and nine grandchildren. Mark enjoys walking, hiking, camping, listening to his grandchildren, and learning how to repair everything he breaks.
