What is Stephen Ministry?
Stephen Ministry offers a proven and effective way to organize, equip, and supervise a team of congregation members—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, one-to-one, Christ-centered care to people in the congregation and the community going through a difficult time in their life.
What is a Stephen Minister?
Stephen Ministers are members of our church who are trained to offer care to people who are hurting. A Stephen Minister typically has one care receiver at a time and meets with that person once a week for about an hour. The caring relationship lasts for as long as the need persists.
For what types of situations can a Stephen Minister provide care?
We all face challenging seasons of life. If you are grieving the loss of a loved one, having a major medical problem, losing a job (or facing other job related problems), experiencing the pain of a broken relationship, serving as a caregiver for a family member with chronic needs, or some other difficult family situation you may benefit from having a Stephen minister to talk to.
Who should I contact if I would like to meet with a Stephen Minister?
If you think you would benefit from having a Stephen Minister you can contact our referral coordinator, Cindy Holloway, at
cindyh@uplandcc.org.
